Candy Sign

CANDY ANYONE?

I have had these popsicle stick fence pieces in the drawer in my crafting desk for at least four years from when my younger brother and I used to craft together. All we ever finished from the project was hot glueing the popsicle sticks together to make fence pieces. We also made a gate out of one of them (the C) by putting a drawer handle on it to look like a door handle and then glueing a popsicle stick diagonally onto the piece.

Anyway, I nailed them all together and cut out some pennants and made a Halloween sign out of them! :)

Have a Frightful Halloween

I haven't posted in months! I feel likeI never have any time to create, but I have been buying and getting ideas like crazy. So there is a lot of new stuff that I have yet to play with but hopefully soon there will be some inspiration flowing from my blog yet again.

My biggest set back with creating is that I need some reason to create, and now that the holiday season is approaching, I have inspiration again!

Here's a card that I just whipped up with lots of new product from the store.

Arboscello Tree

I finally got to play with the Memory Box Arboscello Tree. I've been waiting for it for a while, they sell out so quickly it's been hard to get my hands on one. And then I have to actually find time to make something with it. This is the first card that I made with this die, and I like it so much, as well as the paper, that I made 6 of the card, because you can never have too many sympathy cards within reach.

Jamaica

Here are a few photos I'd like to share with you from my time in Jamaica

We went snorkeling and parasailing, saw a ton of awesome sunsets and got to watch the locals jump off of cliffs, we gazed at the lighthouse of Negril and then climbed its stairs to the top. It was a lot of fun

For My Kitchen

I had a lot of fun making this page. First of all, it's Graphic 45. Second of all, I got to use the TH/Sizzix Rosette die. Third of all, I hardly make pages although this month it seems like that's most of what I've been creating. And forth of all, it's going to be for my kitchen. As soon as I find the perfect picture to go in it, it's going up. I wanted to make a collage or something because I love this line of paper by G45 and it looks so kitchen-y. So I can't wait until I find a picture so I can hang it up!

Fab 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOO! It's time for Fab 5 again today. Just one day only. This month we are featuring Tim Holtz Rosette die. I love this die so much. I use it all the time so I had my project done ages ago, I just had to make sure to limit myself because I could make dozens of projects with this die.

Here's the idea that I ended up going with.

It was definitely time for me to make a page for my new home. I love how this turned out.

Here's the main feature of today's post. The TIM HOLTZ ROSETTE DIE. I actually used the Mini Rosettes die (that's the one that I have). It's a really good substitution for flowers. If you want something like a flower but not as fat, the rosettes lie flatter than most 3D flowers do. It's also good if you're making something for a guy. Flowers are just too feminine for them and this is a good alternative.

The die cut out and placed behind the two rosettes is called Amira Flourish and it's Memory Box

This banner was made with the Memory Box Scalloped Banner die and some circular alphabet sitckers

The window has several components to it. First of all, the window is Memory Box Small Madison Window. the valance hanging above the window is from Spellbinders Blossoms Tags & Accents set, folded in half over the window. The tree is from Memory Box: Twiggy Tree. The leaves for the tree are a Martha Stewart punch called Branch.

I did a little distressing on the tree with Vintage Photo distress ink as well as on the leaves with Pine Needles distress ink to make them look more realistic. Also, hard to see in the pictures, but I also used Broken China to make clouds/sky on the blue background

So, I guess that I didn't control myself well with this page...I kinda went overboard with the dies and supplies but I had so much fun and it turned out so nice.

Supplies:
Paper: MME Fiddlesticks "Lucky" Tapestry (from the Miss Caroline collection)-this was the background
Kaiser Craft "Reunion" (from the These Days collection)-this was used for the rosettes
Ivory CS
Worldwin Light Spring Green CS

Green CS
Brown CS
Blue CS

Dies: Tim Holtz Mini Rosettes Die

Memory Box Scalloped Banner
Spellbinders Blossom Tags and Accent

Inks: Tim Holtz Broken China Distressed Ink

Tim Holtz Pine Needles Distressed Ink

Accessories: Round Alphabet Stickers

I love it when I can finish off a piece of paper that previously I had no idea how I was going to use it up. And in this case, all that digging I did last weekend in my project bags helped me clear out a little more than just my Christmas stock pile. Many of the pieces on this page are from a MME Olala line package that I bought last summer I think...

Supplies:

Background is MME Olala paper
The mount for the pictures on left are Pink Paislee Neighborhood Pool
The pictures are from a McRice paper medley
There's some bling from Zva
Everything else on the page is from the MME Olala line tags sheet

An Edward Christmas

This past weekend I really wanted to get some crafting done after work, but I hadn't bought anything new from the store so I dug around in some of the bags of paper and projects that I have laying around and made a bunch of cards, mostly with old Christmas paper. But it was still a ton of fun. I made a ton of cards and got rid of a lot of old paper that had only been used for one card.

Here's one card I made.

The boy is Greeting Farm (Edward Cullen)
I think that the paper is a Christmas piece from MME, not sure on the polka dot
The snowflake is a Spellbinders snowflake from a variety pack

Edward was colored with Copics:
E00 for his skin
E23 and E25 for his pants
YG63 for his shirt, layered on top of itself for texture
B39 and C10 for his hair
C10 for the black parts of his green shirt
(Also, I used C2 for his shirt underneath)
