So a couple of months ago Picture This received exclusive paper from McRice papers. We are the only store that will ever carry it and it was a one time print. The paper is one of McRice's Medley papers with photos taken by the girls from PT: the PT Posse. Its compiled of all local pictures. Downtown, the zoo, farms, etc. Here's one of the cards that I made with our exclusive paper.

Geranium Layout

The PT Posse had a scrap night at the Green Haven Retreat located behind Picture This at the end of October. The place is amazing. Its such a beautiful property and so relaxing. We had food and drinks and hot tub time as well as an entire day/night of creating. I was able to get several sample pages done for the store. The following is one of them.
Webster's Pages- Citrus Squeeze "Picnic Party #US 2057D"
Cuttlebug Polka Dots Folder

Happy Belated Birthday John

Yesterday was my older brother's birthday. I didn't get around to making him a card until today even though I've had the supplies to make it for a couple of weeks. Its been a busy couple of weeks for me though.

I've been working at the store in the morning and then at the hospital in the evening. Plus I participated in the Dirty Girl Mud Run in Milwaukee this past Sunday. It was tons of fun. I've been working a lot of weekends as well and we've had work done on our bathroom. Now we're getting a new road so the construction around here is going to last for a while. I'm not very excited about this since we have no driveway or cul de sac so I've been parking down the street on a hill. And I tell ya its hot out around here so  not having a garage is making me sweat as soon as I get into my car-it gets so hot sitting in the sun.

I finally have had some time to create, however I can't share most of my projects with you until the end of September after Picture This's Christmas Extravaganza because the projects I've had time to work on have all been for that event. But don't worry I will post them! I have 11 cards so far so you'll have a lot of posts to look through. :)

I'm going to try and get caught up with more projects so that I don't have another 4 month hiatus from blogging. Then I can keep the blog up to date for you guys.

I'll stop blabbering now and tell you about the card I made for my brother's birthday (now for next year).

The background paper is Moxxie "hole in one". The grass is the back of that paper cut out with Dienamics Fresh Cut Grass die. The happy birthday stamp is no longer available but is stamped on Spellbinders Nested Lacey Pennants in Walnut Stain distress ink by Tim Holtz on Worldwin Medium Coffee Brown cardstock. The golf ball is cut out of white cardstock with Spellbinders Standard Large Circles and embossed with Cuttlebug's Polka Dots embossing folder. Everything is adhered onto Worldwin Deep Creamy Cocoa cardstock.

Stop by again soon to see another card made with these materials!

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh Baby

Here is another page sample for you all that will be displayed in the store as soon as we get our new shipment of American Craft paper. The duck paper and the two cards in the bottom right corner are Crate Paper from the Little Boy Blue collection. When we get our new shipment in, this paper may be moving from the American Craft section to the Baby section, so this page will ultimately end up in the Baby Boy section when that happens.

Paper: Crate Paper Little Boy Blue collection
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
MFT Dienamics Mix & Match Banners
Alphabet Cling Stamps
Twine, Ribbon
I think this page is very fitting for the time because EVERYONE I know is pregnant now! Maybe it'll be going into a baby shower gift sometime soon. We'll see...

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day

Go Team

I am still on a page sample kit for the store, and here's what I came up with on Saturday. You'll be able to find it in the "School" section of the store.

When it's made its rounds hanging on the wall in the store I'll take the page back for my younger brother's senior scrapbook (which I still have to start, but he's only a junior and I have a large amount of paper and embellishments already for this project) for one of his Special Olympics pictures.

Supplies:

Crate Paper school spirit "Pep Rally"
"Champions" diecut available at Picture This
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Swiss Dots"
MFT Die-namics "Mix & Match Banners"
Colored Cardstock
Diecut Letters available & cut at Picture This

I hope you enjoyed that post today!

Way Back When. . .Card Kit

Whoa, is this a blast from the past. I found these cards in my stash and realized that I never posted them on my blog. So way back when, when I was still working many hours at Picture This and had time to do things like this, I made a card kit. This is said card kit. Sadly if you like it we no longer have it. Also sadly, I have absolutely NO idea what any of these papers are...I do know that they were doubled sided and at least one of them was the kind of paper that had 4 6x6 squares on its back side that showcased some of the other papers in its paper line. I can tell you that it's old and sold (out) because that is why card kits get made: to sell things out. The embellishments are My Minds Eye. The ribbon PT still carries: green mesh ribbon. Also the blue embossed paper is Core-dinations. The Cuttlebug embossing folder is called Moroccan Screen. The white tags are Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio. And the stamps are/were all from Leann's stash.

But don't fret over the fact that these cards are old and there's no way you can still get anything used to make them, because you still have the idea. ;)

Bricks and Windows

I'm back as I promised to be. This time I have a card for you, rather than a project. You've probably got the  supplies for this already, they're kind of the staples of cardmaking. If you don't however, you'll be wanting to down to Picture This and picking them up because once you use them, you're gonna be hooked.

To make this card you'll need:
Memory Box Small Madison Window
Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 3
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Brick embossing folder
Judith F-262 'Merry Christmas' Stamp
Graphic 45 Christmas paper
Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distressed Ink
Plaid Green Ribbon

See? You've probably got all of these. And if you don't, of course you can change out the Judith Christmas stamp for any other one you have on hand, same with the label, and you can use any kind of red ink you may have. BUT I think you really do need the Tim Holtz Brick folder and the Memory Box Window die. Really, you need them. Go get them if you don't have them. Every project from now on you will want to use these things, or you'll be making a project and think "Gee, If I only had XXX then my project would be perfect and it could be completed". Seriously. And of course if you'd like to make this card you will also need them because as far as I know, no other companies have a brick wall embossing folder or window as versatile as this one (although Cheery Lynn does have a bunch of cute windows that have a bit of flare, like stained glass church windows).

Happy Crafting!

Fab 5 Day 2- Spellbinders

Spellbinders

My favorite things in the world!

This year they came out with the best Spellbinders for Christmas.

I put two of them together, the Poinsettia and Flower Pots:

Paper: Authentique: Wonder: "Yearning"
Embossing: CB folder "Brocade"

Fab 5- Day 2 Spellbinders

I've got to say that I love Spellbinders! They're so versatile and add so much dimension to cards it's unbelievable.

In this card, I used Spellbinders new die set "Blossom Tags and Accents" available now at Picture This along with alot of other really great dies. I also used "Standard Large Circles".

This butterfly is not however Spellbinders, it's a new company called Cheery Lynn Designs and this particular butterfly is from the "Exotic Butterfly 2" package. However, Spellbinders does have some great Shapeabilities butterflies that look very similiar. This links to one, two, and three different Spellbinders products that are similiar to this butterfly.

And lastly, the embossing folder that I used was Cuttlebug's "Textile" for the background and the circle in the middle.
